Air dryers remove water from the air and come in two main forms: refrigeration and adsorption.
Refrigeration:
Refrigerated compressed air dryers utilize the principle of cooling the air and lowering the air temperature, so that the moisture in the wet air is precipitated out of the air through condensation, and drier air is obtained.
Adsorption type:
Adsorption type compressed air dryer utilizes the principle of pressure change adsorption, when the wet air passes through the adsorbent, the moisture is adsorbed by the adsorbent, and the dry air is obtained.
The air directly discharged from the air compressor contains many impurities, mainly composed of water, oil and particulate impurities.
The working principle of adsorption dryer is to reduce the content of moisture in compressed air. Generally speaking, the dew point of the outlet gas reaches -20℃~-70℃.
Activated alumina and molecular sieve are commonly adsorbents uses in industrial production with different role.
Theoretically, activated alumina can reach the pressure dew point of -50℃, and in fact, it can be fully guaranteed to -40℃, while molecular sieve can reach the dew point of -70℃. In terms of drying performance, it is much stronger than activated alumina, but the cost is higher little.
